A time capsule of real stocks, for someone you love.
Sprout lets you gift tokenized stocks, like Apple or Nvidia, to a child, a grandchild or a friend, and lock them until a day that matters. It's like a trust account for a gift, without the paperwork: the rules are written into a contract on Base that nobody, including us, can override.

A Sprout is a gift of real stocks for someone you love, planted today and opened on a day that matters: their 18th, a graduation, a wedding.
It isn't cash or a fixed amount. It's shares of real companies, so it has years to grow with the market while it waits. You choose the day it opens; until then, nobody can touch it. Not even you.
Real shares also mean the value can go down as well as up. See the honest part.

Set an unlock date and time: a birthday, a graduation, their 18th. Add an occasion and a message. Pick a backup wallet, just in case.

Send the gift card
You get a scratch-off gift card link. The two codes are sealed under silver foil, so even you can't see them. Send it privately; if anyone scratches it before your recipient, the card shows when.
The Claim Code is end-to-end encrypted and never reaches us

Your recipient scratches the card and opens the Sprout with the Access Code. Until the unlock date they see a countdown; the amount and your message stay a surprise.

Step 06They claim it
After unlock, they enter the Claim Code and their wallet address. Their browser signs the claim, and the whole Sprout moves to their wallet in one step.
The signature only works for their address, so it can't be redirected
/ Why You Can Trust It
What we can't do, by design
The safest custodian is one that can't take anything. These aren't promises in a policy; they're how the code works.
We can't touch your Sprout
Sprout contracts have no owner, no admin key, no pause button and no upgrade. There is no function that lets us, or anyone else, take the stock out early.
Nobody can break the lock
Not you, not your recipient, not us. Before the unlock time the contract simply refuses to release anything.
We never see the Claim Code
It lives only on the gift card, and we never store it. Even if our servers were breached, no Sprout could be claimed.
We can't read the gift card
The card is encrypted end to end. Only someone holding the card link can open it. We can't.
It never gets stuck
If the Sprout isn't claimed within the window you chose after unlock, it can go to your backup wallet. No code is needed, and anyone can trigger it on-chain, so it doesn't depend on us being around. Until then, a late claim still works.
Everything is checkable
Every Sprout is a public contract on Base. Anyone can look it up and see exactly what it holds and where it went. You don't have to take our word for anything.

No yearly or holding fee, and adding more later is free. The whole Sprout stays in its contract.

No fee to claim. The network cost is a few cents at most.
Buying and locking also need a little network gas on Base, usually well under a cent.
/ Good To Know
The honest part
Real money, locked for years, deserves plain answers. Here's what can go wrong and what we're doing about it.
- The contracts can't be changed after deployment, and like any new smart contract they may still hold undiscovered bugs.
- The gift card works like cash. Anyone with the link and the Claim Code can claim the Sprout after it unlocks. Send it privately and keep it safe.
- The stocks are Coinbase tokenized stocks (B20). Like any tokenized asset, the issuer can freeze tokens or block wallets, and they aren't available in every country (not to US persons, for example). A recipient in a restricted place may need a different wallet to claim.
- Prices move. A Sprout is the shares themselves, so its dollar value goes up and down with the market until it's claimed.
- Lost card? Without the Claim Code the recipient can't claim. The Sprout can then go to your backup wallet after the claim window.
